How to Fix "Not Registered on Network"/Wrong IMEI for Galaxy S3/S4/Note2

This tutorial will learn you how to fix "not registered on network", wrong IMEI for :
  • Samsung galaxy S3 GT-I9300 model ONLY.
  • Samsung galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 model ONLY. 
  • Samsung galaxy S4 GT-I9500 model ONLY.
  • Samsung galaxy S4 GT-I9505 model ONLY.
Before starting :
  • Backup your important data first just in case of this process corrupt your data.
  • Download and install Samsung mobile driver (Skip this if you already have Samsung Kies)  (Link below)
  • Download MODEM.tar.md5 file then unzip it only one time (Link below)
  • Download Odin3 then unzip it (Link below)Disable the antivirus software, Close Samsung Kies and disconnect any device connected to USB ports on your computer.
Flashing instructions :
1- Run "Odin3" as administrator, Click on PDA button and navigate to Modem.tar.md5 file that you extracted.
2 - Shut down your device and make sure your device is completely off
3 - Put your device into download mode by pressing and holding (Volume Down + Home + Power) buttons
4 - Press Volume up to continue
5 - Connect the device to your computer by USB cable and wait until you get a sign in Odin (ID:COM section) and "Added" in message box.
6 - Make sure re-partition is NOT SELECTED [Very important]
7- Click Start and wait a few seconds until you see "PASS!".

Notes :
  • Do not disconnect the cable or turn off the device while flashing
  • I am not responsible if something wrong happened to your device (use this AT YOUR OWN RISK)
  • Install Samsung Mobile Driver or Samsung Kies if you don't see a sign in Odin (Step 5)
  • This process takes maximum 1 minute
  • In some cases this won't fix the wrong IMEI or "not registered on network" message
  • If your device stuck in boot loop after downgrading, factory reset your device from recovery mode (Vol up+Home+Power)

How to Fix Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Rooting Problem for Galaxy S3/S4/Note 2/3

After updating Samsung galaxy S3/S4/Note 2/ Note 3 to Android 4.3 jelly bean update which contains the new security from Samsung "Samaung KNOX", you might face a problem if you tried to root your device by using CF-Auto-Root method or other methods.

This might happened because of KNOX security, it block/disable SuperSu app and you will see this notification after the first boot.
"Unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped" 
"Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked"
In some cases you will not see SuperSU after rooting in your application list
You can enable it by going to Settings / More / Application manager, Swipe to DISABLED tab and Enable SuperSU app.

How to fix KNOX problem :
1. Go to Google Play, Search and update/install SuperSU app
2. When you will open SuperSU for the first time it will ask you to update the SU binary
3. Tap on "Continue" then "Normal" not the "CWM/TRP".
4. SuperSU will detect Samsung KNOX security and will ask you to disable KNOX, Choose "OK"
5. After displaying "installation success!", reboot your device.
Done !
Now SuperSU and root access should be working fine for you.

How to fix "Unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped"

Download and install the latest APK for SuperSU like MrW0lf suggested.
I was having the same exact problem (unfortunately, SuperSU has stopped), so I downloaded the latest UPDATE-SuperSU file and extract it to have supersu APK, put it on my SD card in my phone and installed it from there.
It was strange because the version that was already on my phone was the same 1.89 version that I downloaded, but regardless, when I clicked on the APK, it saw it as an update, it asked to disabled knox, and worked like a charm.

[No Warranty Void] Root Android 4.3 for Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300

Samsung has blocked rooting the international version of the galaxy S3 GT-I9300 by using SafeRoot method, which was completely safe, easy and it doesn't void the warranty of the phone nor trip flash (binary) counter.
I have found a way to make "SafeRoot" root the galaxy S3 GT-I9300 on the latest android 4.3 jelly bean like any other devices.

Requirements :
  • I9300_Root_Kernel file
  • I9300_MK6_Kernel file
  • Odin3
  • Installed Samsung Kies or Samsung mobile USB driver
  • Saferoot file
Instructions :
  1. All the process WON'T wipe your data, but back it up just incase this process corrupt your data.
  2. Flash Root_Kernel.tar.md5 file by odin3 in PDA or AP section.
  3. Make sure Re-Partition is NOT selected.
  4. Root your device using SafeRoot method by following this guide : [No Warranty Void] Safe Root Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3/S4 Note 2
  5. Flash back the current kernel of your firmware MK6 until Samsung update it by Odin3
Congratulation, your galaxy S3 GT-I9300 is rooted on the latest version of Android 4.3 jelly bean without tripping flash (binary) counter.
Notes:
  • Download and install manually busybox if the tool is failed to install it.
  • Use this guide at your own risk
  • This process and kernel files ONLY for the international version GT-I9300 and ONLY for Android 4.3 jelly bean.
  • Normally this process will continue to work until Samsung starts to push Android 4.4 kitkat to the S3 (DON'T use it on 4.4 kitkat, it will brick your device).
  • You will not be able to receive OTA update, but you can update your device at any time by Kies or Odin3. 
  • This process is tested by me and worked on all the latest Android 4.3 jelly bean firmwares.
  • To unroot your device --> Open SuperSU app / Settings / Full UnRoot.

[No Warranty Void] Safe Root Android 4.3 for Galaxy S3/S4 Note 2/3

Safe root Android 4.3 jelly bean for Samsung galaxy S3, S4 and other without tripping KNOX warranty (KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x0)
This rooting method is working for a wide range of Android device (not only Samsung), it can also root devices which are running Android 4.2

How to Change CSC (Region Code) for Samsung Galaxy Models

What is the CSC (Consumer Software Customization) code?
The CSC code contains information about software packages specific to a particular region, carrier branding and also APN settings for data connection.
In this way, unless the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes do not match correctly, you will not be able to update your device over Samsung Kies or via OTA"

If the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes do not match correctly, Samsung Kies software will display this message in "Firmware information" section when you connect your Samsung device to PC
"Your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies."
And normally If the PDA, PHONE and CSC codes match correctly, Samsung Kies software will display
"This is the latest firmware." or "New firmware is available."
Lets start

Requirements :
1. Samsung galaxy device
2. "Android Terminal Emulator" App

Before Startting :
1. Backup your important data because changing CSC will delete all data on your device.
2. Root your Samsung galaxy
3. Download "Android Terminal Emulator" App (Link below)

Steps :
1. Open "Android Terminal Emulator" App and type
Su
Then enter
It will ask for root permission
2. Type
am start -a Android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.sec.Android.Preconfig/com.sec.Android.Preconfig.Preconfig
Then enter (Text file link below)
It will open the "Preconfig"
If it doesn't work, Try this
am start -a android.intent.action.MAIN -n com.android.Preconfig/com.android.Preconfig.Preconfig
Then enter (Text file link below)
3. Select sales code then Install
Your device will reboot

~ WARNING : Changing CSC will factory reset your device (delete all data)
~ This method will work only on ROOTED devices
~ This will only work if your current firmware support Multi-CSC
~ It might display "PreconfigUI does not support SingleCSC" if your current firmware doesn't support Multi-CSC.
~ This method should work for many galaxy devices which running Android jelly bean, tested on galaxy advance, S3 and S4.
~ Devices which running Android ice cream sandwich, just dial *#272*Phone’s IMEI Here# (you can get the IMEI of your device by dialing *#06*).

Thank you very much. The method worked smoothly.
Just for the record, and you may want to share this information with your visitors. After finishing all the steps and rooting your phone. It is very wise to uninstall VRoot from your PC. I recommend using IObit Uninstaller 3. if VRoot uninstalled by the regular way through widnows, it leaves lot of registry keys on your pc that tries to open different ports as it shows on the attached file. IObit Uninstaller 3 will ensure that all related keys and other system files are totally removed. I am not going to share the link of the application, but you can safely google the name and read many reviews on PCWorld and PCMagz regarding the application (Its free). You can use any other Uninstaller application that you trust but is capable of completely remove the application from your pc along with all the keys and system files.

How To UNROOT and Reset Flash Counter for All Samsung Galaxy devices


This is a full UNROOTING tutorial for Samsung galaxy devices, reset flash counter to bring the warranty back.
"Samsung devices store a flash counter that keeps track of how many times you have flashed custom firmwares to your device after rooting"
This process is very important if you would like to send your device to warranty

Requirements :
~ Charged and Rooted Samsung galaxy S3
~ Triangle Away App on your device
~ Official firmware (Download from SamMobile or Samsung-updates)
~ Odin3 (Link below)
~ Installed Samsung Kies software or Samsung Mobile driver on PC (Link below)

Un-Rooting instructions :
Read all and watch video first

Backup your data first because all data on your device will be deleted
1- Download and install "Triangle Away" App (Link below)
2- Open "Triangle Away" ... (it will ask for root permission ... Accept)
(You should see message like this "Please confirm your device is this exact model GT-I9300")
3- Tap continue
(The App will download some data Select "Download" and wait ...)
4- Choose "Reset flash counter" and "Continue"
Your device will restart into special mode
5- Volume up to continue
6- While rebooting ... quickly Remove the battery and back it again
7- Start your device into "Download mode" (Volume Down + Home + Power)
8- Volume up to continue
9- Flash the official firmware for your galaxy device by Odin
- After the flashing and configuration process finish quickly Unplug USB cable , Remove the battery and back it again
10- Start your device into "Recovery mode" (Volume UP + Home + Power)
11- Choose "Wipe data/factory reset" then "Yes" and wait ...

Notes :

~ status can only be reset on some firmware for the new devices like SGS3/SGNote2/SGNote10.1

~ "Triangle Away" does work on some (not all) stock firmwares.
~ Resetting counter value doesn't work on custom firmwares
~ Some devices set the counter to 1 at every boot if you are running a custom kernel or recovery

How To ROOT Any Ver of Samsung Galaxy S3 [CF-Auto-Root]

CF auto Root for All versions of Samsung galaxy S3 / SIII AT&T, Verizon, US Cellular, T-Mobile, Sprint, Metro, Cricket and LTE (GT-I9300, GT-I9300T, GT-I9305, GT-I9305N, GT-I9305T, SC-06D, SCH-I535, SGH-I747, SGH-I747M, SGH-T999, SPH-L710, and many versions of Samsung devices) + Samsung galaxy S4

By this guide you can root the galaxy S3 which running on ice cream sandwich and jelly bean (4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.1, 4.2.2 and 4.3)

How to Install CWM Recovery + Root Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/Note 2

This is one of the well known Root method for ALL android devices
In this guide we will show you how to flash/install ClockWorkMod recovery to root ANY Samsung galaxy S3, S4 and Note 2 (International, LTE, Cricket, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular, Metro, ... ) which are running on Android 4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.2 and 4.3 jelly bean.
We will use CWM recovery to push root files to system, all what you need is to read this article carefully and follow all the steps.

Requirement :
  • ClockWorkMod recovery file 
  • Odin3
  • Charged Samsung galaxy Device
  • Root files
  • USB cable
  • Windows PC
Before Starting :
  • Download and Install Samsung Kies or Smanung mobile USB driver (Skip it if you already have Kies on your PC).
  • Download and Extract the correct ClockWorkMod recovery file for the model of your device
  • Download and Extract Odin3
  • Download Root files
  • Disconnect all devices which are connected to USB Ports
  • Stop your antivirus and Kies software
Steps :
  1. Send UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.XX.zip to any folder on the internal storage ex:Download
  2. Run Odin3 as administrator
  3. Click on PDA (or AP if you are using Odin3 v3.09) and navigate to the extracted recovery.tar file
  4. Make sure that re-partition is not selected and reboot too
  5. Put your device in download mode
  6. Connect your device to PC via USB cable and wait until you see a sign in ID:COM and Added in Odin3
  7. Click Start and wait few seconds
  8. After Odin3 display PASS or RESET, unplug USB cable
  9. Put your device in recovery mode
  10. Choose install zip > choose zip from /sdcard > 0 / > the folder which contains root file (in my case : Download/) > UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.XX.zip > Yes.
  11. Wait few seconds
  12. Choose Go Back > reboot system now
  13. Open SuperSU app and disable KNOX.
Done !

  • This process won't delete any data, but backup your important data just in case this process corrupt your files.
  • Flashing custom recovery will void the warranty of your device.

How to Install a Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S3

A full tutorial about flashing/installing a stock/custom recovery on Samsung galaxy S3 (its exactly the same steps for other galaxy devices, you just need the correct recovery for your galaxy model)
it works for all Android version (4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2 and 4.2.1)

Flashing/installation instructions :
Backup your data first
(For Samsung SCH-I535 galaxy S3 Verizon, you need to unlock bootloader first GO HERE)
1- Download the recovery file (Link below)
2- Unzip the downloaded file only one time
3- Open "Odin3" as administrator
4- Click on PDA button and browse to the unzipped file.tar.md5 file that you extracted

How To ROOT & Install CWM Recovery on Samsung Galaxy S3 [CF-Root]

CF Root for Samsung galaxy S3 GT-I9300 and GT-I9300T
By using this guide you can root the galaxy S3 which running on Android ice cream sandwich or jelly bean (4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2, 4.2.1)

Rooting instructions :
Backup your data first
1- Download CF-Root-SGS3 file (Link below)
2- Unzip the downloaded file only one time
3- Open "Odin3" as administrator
4- Click on PDA button and browse to the CF-Root-SGS3-vX.X.tar file that you extracted

5 - Disconnect any device connected to USB ports on your computer and disable your antivirus software
6 - Shut down your device
7 - Put your device into Download Mode (Volume Down + Home + Power)
8 - Volume up to continue

9 - Connect the device to your computer by USB cable and wait until you get a sign in Odin (ID:COM section) and "Added" in message
10 - Make sure re-partition is NOT TICKED [Very important]

11 - Click Start and wait a few seconds.
